Specifics:
THE PARASITE
Arthur Conan Doyle
A rare chance to own this Vampire tale from Conan-Doyle which itself is an
unusual departure from the Sherlock Holmes stories.
It’s also unusual for this to appear in its own right as it is normally
included in compilations of short stories.
The typeface and the layout of the text add to its charm and show the
publishers were obviously aware this was a "short story" and wanted
to make it fill as many pages as possible to appear on its own.
When you consider the year of publication and the nature of the story this was
an attempt to cash in on the late 19th century Victorian penchant for vampire
stories.
Due to the age of this book it’s obviously not in mint condition. But is still
in remarkably good condition considering its been read quite a few times and
has resided on various bookshelves now for 113 years
In original hardback yellow cover. Has a slight dint on the top front cover.
Slight discolouration to the edge of the pages; but that’s nothing unexpected
in a book this old.
The binding is still tight and secure.
It’s a lovely compact little volume and a must for any Conan Doyle collector
