As a Chicago teenager my father (Dr. Locke Mackenzie) shared his love of ornithology with another teenager Nathan "Babe" Leopold -- years before the infamous Leopold & Loeb killing of Bobby Franks. Much later, after his parole, Leopold sent my father an inscribed and autographed copy of his book "Life Plus 99 Years." The book is in excellent condition and the inscription is easy to read.
