Wilfred Whitten was a British writer and editor. His pseudonym was John O'London, from which the influential John O'London's Weekly obtained its name. Whitten worked for the Daily Mail from 1916 to 1919, when he founded the magazine John O'London's Weekly. The stories which appear in the London Stories collection first appeared as articles in this magazine. Recognising that contemporary guide books didn't focus on the people living in the places they talked about, Whitten focused on the quirky stories of some of London's most famous residents and events.
LONDON STORIES provides considerably more than three hundred stories of the lives, adventures, triumphs, follies and eccentricities of Londoners in all ages.
